Kathy is a Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent (authorized to practice before the IRS) and Financial Planner.  She is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Kathy has lived in her Gilberts home for 34 years.  Kathy is the mother of four wonderful adult children, grandmother of four precious grandchildren, and owner of several pets.  In her time away from work, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family, reading, crafting, and walking in the beautiful North Woods of Wisconsin.
Kathy has worked in the public accounting and tax preparation profession most of her adult life.  She is an Enrolled Agent (authorized to practice before the IRS).  In May of 1995, Kathy started her former business, Kathryn & Company, a successful accounting and tax practice serving approximately 75 businesses and 180 individuals.  Kathryn & Company grew and prospered for almost 12 years, and in October of 2006 when Kathy’s plans included possible relocation out of Illinois, this business was sold.  As life would have it, plans change, and Kathy stayed in Illinois after the sale of her first business.  Fortunately, Kathy was hired by a small firm in Crystal Lake, where she worked as a senior staff accountant and tax preparer for just under 3 years.  Then, like many others, Kathy became a victim of the down-turn in the economy, and was let go from her position.  Shortly thereafter, KLW Accounting & Tax Ltd. was launched.

Kathy has always maintained the “Golden Rule”, both personally and professionally throughout her lifetime.  She also believes that providing excellent service and expertise for reasonable fees is key to the successful operation of an accounting and tax practice.  This belief was the cornerstone in building Kathryn & Company, and will now continue on through KLW Accounting & Tax Ltd.
